Prapti Ghimire was Born on 4th Sep 1991 in Bhaktapur, Nepal. She moved to Germany when she was one. She was grown up in Essen which is a city in the western side of Germany. Now, she lives in Oberhausen, NRW Germany.

In 2007 she won the "sweet Sixteen" beauty contest in Essen-Kettwig. She was not only crowned with success for the year 2007/2008 but also for the year 2008/2009. This success of Prapti brought her to the film industry of Nepal. She was chosen for the leading role of the movie Kathmandu by Akash Adhikari. Although Prapti had no experience of acting, she has given her best shot as the leading role of the movie. She was just 17 when she entered to the Nepali Film Industry for the first time. Prapti has played as a drug addict and a girl longing for her parent’s love in the movie 'Kathmandu'

She has successfully showed her talent and interest toward Nepal. Thats why she wants to continue in the Nepali Film Industry, but in different way than other actors do in Nepal. She thinks that she will be willing to do movies which really fits to her face cut.The positive point in her is that she gives much more value to finish her studies than choosing movies. In other words, acting is a hobby and study comes first.
